The story begins just after Christmas, and the author describes the fun and excitement of the occasion. It is particularly enjoyable for little kids who don’t understand the significance of Christmas, but they love all the decorations and celebrations. Archie, the little boy, is fascinated by the green tree in the lounge room, looking beautiful with small balls in light. In the morning, when he woke up, there were presents all around the tree. Some of those gifts were for him, while others were for his big brother Chase. All this while he had enjoyed visiting families for special meals and receiving gifts from everyone. It defines the true essence of the celebrations. Archie had received a little bike from his gran, which also happens to be his first bike. It used to make loud noises when Archie pushed the small buttons on the front. It was a fun activity for him, and he would laugh again and again.
After a couple of weeks came Archie’s first birthday. At this point, he didn’t understand much, but his mum and dad, along with his big brother Chase were very excited about the special day. Together they planned and prepared many things for Archie’s birthday. They planned to organize a big barbecue party at a nearby lake with all the family members. It would also give the children an opportunity to run around and play with one another. They were around eight big kids who needed space to play around the whole day. Three babies mostly spent their days sitting on the rug with their parents. Chase and Archie’s father also decided to take their boat out and put it on the lake so that the children could enjoy a ride in it. There was also a boogie board attached to the back of the boat. It was planned to be a fun and exciting day for the children and other family members.
On the day, the tables were set up at a shady spot. There were two tables, one for the present and the other for the food. The family members had brought a lot of presents for Archie that included cars, trucks, and books, more little bikes, and attractive toys. But out of all, Archie liked the big blue car. It was a gift from his parents. He loved the car so much that he went and sat inside the car with his little drink bottle. Even during lunch, he decided not to leave his new car and ate one nibble at a time from the car. The big car had a button inside that he could push, and it will make some funny sounds. In the end, it was a wonderful day as everybody enjoyed their lunch and of course the chocolate birthday cake. The kids and the uncles also enjoyed boat rides on the lake. In the end, everyone helped one another to clean up the picnic area. Everybody thanked Chase and his father and went home tired but very happy.
