However, the Philadelphia Athletics had a novelty in 1930 when they placed the elephant emblem on top of the ring, which would not be repeated until 1974 when the Oakland Athletics placed the A’s logo on top of the ring.

In the years thereafter, not every club has placed its insignia on top of the rings. Only the 1977 Yankees, 1979 Pirates, 1980 Phillies, 1983 Orioles, 1987 Twins, 1990 Reds, and 1992 and 1993 Blue Jays accomplished this.
