Kitchen Extraction Systems play a key role in ensuring the kitchen is a safe place to work in and odour free. What we mean by odour free is that there is no particular scent or smell and this is a must when working in a kitchen because the odours and grease created when cooking and if not removed, kitchen surfaces will build up an area of grime which can be tough to remove.

Our Kitchen Extract Canopies are designed to remove airborne particles which could cause harm to people’s health working in the kitchen or are the cause of any unwanted smells.

Below we list the services of a full-function kitchen extract system:

  • Meeting the Client/Architect to discuss important requirements of the project.
  • A visit to the proposed established premises
  • Present the client with a drawing of the plan, showing the proposals for the Filtration/Odour Control System
  • Attend design meetings
  • Liaise with the Architect, Designer, Structural and Consulting Engineers, Developer and Environmental Health Officers to ensure everything is in order and on-track
  • Provide the Client with a full quotation for the complete installation

Kitchen Extract Canopies

All of our Kitchen Extract Canopies are manufactured in-house and are made from Stainless Steel which can be cut to the size of your choice.

A correctly designed and installed kitchen ventilation system will ensure a healthy and comfortable working environment for your staff.

There are many materials used in the manufacture of our ventilation systems, we have compiled a list of components which are included with the installation of the canopies.

  • Satin Finish No.4
  • Canopy Lights
  • Baffle Grease Filters
  • Drip Trays
  • Gutters

Kitchen Extract Filtration and Odour Control System

We also provide different types of specialised extract filtration and odour control systems which we have explained here:

  • Electrostatic Precipitators – used to collect grease and smoke fumes – comes complete with pre- and post-filters.
  • UV-C Odour Control – This is a system of ultra violet lighting which is used to eliminate cooking odours that UV itself cannot remove. If a lot of smoke is produced e.g. a grill – an electrostatic precipitator should also be used.
  • Carbon filter plants

Ventilation Ductwork for Kitchen Extraction System

Here at Caswell, we have developed our own range of Fire Rated Ductwork which has been evaluated and tested by Warrington Fire and Research Centre. This is known as the “Firesafe” range – a Fire Rated Ductwork which satisfies the BS476 Part 24: 1984 for up to four hours of stability, four hours integrity and two hours insulation.

By law, an extraction system has to be professionally installed and maintained. Failure to comply could lead to planning permissions being rejected/denied.
