Infertile Treatment Drugs

The market abounds in many infertility medicines, with Clomiphene and Gonadotropins being two of the commonest ones. These medicines are effective for controlling the reproductive hormones and can easily trigger egg release during ovulation cycle.

These medicines are generally taken for about 3 to 6 months, prior to conception or prior to moving on to some other infertility cure option.

Artificial Insemination

This process includes injecting a concentrated dose of the sperm of a partner or donor right into the uterus with the help of a catheter. About 5 to 25% of females who are inseminated artificially are found to conceive.

Surgery

With the help of surgery, infertility problems associated to endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, genetic defects and fallopian tube blockage can be resolved at times. Surgical processes, says Dr Eliran Mor, are generally performed with the help of laparoscopy.

The success rate is around 40 to 60% in women who have gone through operation for the treatment of endometriosis or scar tissue problems. The success rate is about 10 to 90% in case of fallopian tube obstruction surgery.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

Treatment for infertility problems start with egg removal from the ovaries, which are fertilized then with the help of the sperm of a donor or partner in lab settings. When there is an embryo, it is planted carefully into the uterus.

The success rate of IVF treatment is around 27 to 35%. Eliran Mor says that it is important to remember that with IVF treatment, your doctor may prescribe you a few infertility drugs before the process. This can increase the chances of giving birth to multiple babies.
