Along with such an amazing story, she explained that her father was the best brick mason who mastered his craft. Many supervisors’ sons, at that time, were apprentices of Daddy throughout his career. It was a matter of discussion when a black man used to make $15-$20 a day. He would help people to get jobs as laborers’ who could not become brick masons. He said to his children that one should always help people whenever possible. As he was fond of helping people, especially black people in this trade of brick mason he had to face rejections in many places.
Thus, the book “Daddy Said” becomes one of the important accounts of black bricklayers’ problems. Along with that, many other interesting facts were introduced here. According to the critics, it is going to be one of the best books written in this age so far.
