Sharp tip Keratome knives are one of the must use knives during the cataract surgery of the eye, irrespective of the surgical technique used by the surgeon i.e. phacoemulsification (Phaco), clear cornea or small incision cataract surgery (SICS).
Sharp Tip Keratomes deliver precise incisions of various widths, to enable insertion of Phaco tip, Hydrodissection cannula, Visco cannula, Irrigating vectis, Phaco chopper, Sinskey hook, Dialer and Irrigation / Aspiration tips. Precise incision helps improve the surgical outcome for the patient by reducing the recovery time and causing less post-operative trauma.
Our Sharpedge brand Sharp Tip Keratome knives are manufactured using imported surgical grade stainless steel material. They offer a wide array of incision sizes ranging from 1.0mm to 3.5mm. This gives the surgeon the flexibility to choose the appropriate size that suits his/her surgical technique. Sharp tip keratomes are further available in various options like Classicline, Primeline, Slimline, Fineline and Safeline based on the form of stainless steel material used.
Classicline knives are made from stainless steel strips traditionally known as Flat Stock knives. Classicline offers a good sturdy feel. The Sharp Tip Keratome knives in Classicline are available in 2.0mm, 2.2mm, 2.5mm, 2.65mm, 2.8mm, 3.0mm, 3.2mm and 3.5mm variants.
Primeline knives are made from stainless steel wires of different gauges traditionally known as Round Stock knives. They are sharper and finer compared to Classicline and they offer better maneuverability and visibility. The Sharp Tip Keratome knives in Primeline are available in the 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.4mm, 1.5mm, 1.6mm, 1.7mm, 1.8mm, 1.9mm, 2.0mm, 2.2mm, 2.5mm, 2.65mm, 2.8mm, 3.0mm, 3.2mm and 3.5mm variants.
Slimline knives are made from finer, pre-hardened stainless steel strips. The angled polycarbonate handle design is the identity of Slimline knives. Since the angulation is given in the handle we are able to considerably reduce the use of stainless steel material. Slimeline offers best value for money. The Sharp Tip Keratome knives in Slimline are available in the 1.9mm, 2.0mm, 2.2mm, 2.3mm, 2.4mm, 2.5mm, 2.65mm, 2.75mm, 2.8mm, 3.0mm and 3.2mm variants.
Fineline knives use the same stainless steel material as the Slimline knives. However, they use the straight handle design and the angulation is given in the blade tip. Fineline knives offer a similar cutting performance as the Slimline knives, but offer better maneuverability and visibility. The Sharp Tip Keratome knives in Fineline are available in the 1.8mm, 2.0mm, 2.2mm, 2.3mm, 2.4mm, 2.65mm, 2.75mm, 2.8mm, 3.0mm and 3.2mm variants.
Safeline knives are a step up from Primeline knives, they are made from stainless steel wires of different gauges. Safeline knives are made using grinderless-technology, hence offering consistent cutting performance. The matt finish on these knives reduces the glare from the knives during the surgery. They also come with a nifty safety feature on their handle that reduces the chances of sharp injuries during use. The Sharp Tip Keratome knives in Safeline are available in the 2.0mm, 2.2mm, 2.4mm and 2.8mm variants.
Most of our sharp tip Keratomes are available in straight single bevel, straight bi-bevel, angled (45 degree) bevel up, angled (45 degree) bevel down and angled (45 degree) bi-bevel versions.
