No matter how old we are, what we do for a living, or how we deal with our closest friends and family, it’s safe to say that we all need a break from time to time, especially at the end of a long and frustrating day. Sometimes, all we need to do is shut down, relax, and lose ourselves in something silly and fun. Since smartphone games are the best way to get away from real life and because anyone with a smart phone can play them no matter where they are, it’s a good idea to load up your phone with these little stress relievers. In this article, we’ll talk about some very interesting games that will draw you in and help you forget about your problems for a while. These are great games that help you relax in different ways, like by making you focus, think, laugh, or just let off steam.
Doodle God
Doodle God is a fun and unique idea that doesn’t really have any serious action, a complicated story, or hard-to-understand game mechanics. It’s a great way to have some simple fun just for the sake of having fun. You start with the traditional four elements: water, wind, earth, and fire. You can mix the new elements with the old ones, and you are encouraged to make interesting combinations. There are more than 100 different combinations, including storms, planes, dinosaurs, and other things.
Not all items can be put together, so you have to try things out and make guesses. The “facts” about the new things you make will make you chuckle or even laugh out loud. If you can’t find any new combinations after three minutes, you’ll get a hint. This means you can’t really get lost or frustrated with the game, and it will definitely keep your mind busy enough to make you forget about your problems for a while.
Crayon Physics
I can’t speak for everyone when I say that the most interesting smartphone games have unique and clever art styles, but from what I’ve seen, this seems to be true for most people. Crayon Physics is a physics game, as the name suggests. What makes it special is that it combines clever physics-based puzzles with a cute art style and very different gameplay. The goal of each level seems simple: move the little red ball to the yellow star. However, you do this by drawing different objects that are then brought to life by the game’s physics engine and act like objects of the same size and shape would here on earth.
It’s a lot of fun, and the fact that it looks like a simple crayon drawing really drives home the idea that you’re using a magical crayon that makes drawings come to life. The soothing music, addictive game play, and ability to play the same levels over and over again are more than enough to let your mind relax while you explore your creative side.
Bad Piggies
From the people who made Angry Birds, which is probably the best way to kill time in recent video game history, comes a fun new game with the green pigs we all hate. The goal is to use custom-made vehicles to get your pigs from where they start to where they finish. Several different things, like fans and soda bottles, are attached to basic boxes in different ways to make these contraptions. This new smartphone game is much harder than Angry Birds, and it takes a lot of skill to get through a level. However, once you figure out how the game works and how to use the different tools, you won’t be able to put the phone down.
Getting stuck on a level can be frustrating, but the feeling of accomplishment you get when you finish a level with three stars is amazing. It will make you feel so happy that it can easily put you in a good mood, even after an emotionally and physically draining day.
The Room
The Room is all about a peaceful setting with soft music, beautiful graphics, and hard puzzles. As soon as you start playing, you’ll get caught up in the atmosphere and be able to focus like a laser on what you need to do. There’s a whole story behind it, but to avoid spoilers, let’s just say you’re in a room with a very complicated safe that you need a lot of patience and problem-solving skills to open. You have puzzle after puzzle to solve, and each one is harder than the last. You’ll be scratching your head for a few hours. It is very interesting, beautiful, and makes you think hard, which takes your mind off of everything else.
Master of Craft
In Master of Craft, the hero runs a town with item shops, which is a nice change from the usual RPG formula. These shops are like the hundreds we’ve bought swords and potions from in classic RPGs without giving a second thought to where they came from. You use raw materials that you get from different places. At first, a simple sawmill gives you twigs. You can also send heroes on adventures to get rare items and materials from different enemy creatures and bring them back to you. You have to make them more advanced equipment so they can fight more powerful creatures, but you can’t control the battles besides using some of the skills you learn. It’s a lot of fun and gives you a chance to be creative, but sometimes you have to grind for materials. You can spend a relaxing afternoon playing the game by making things and sending out expeditions.
Cut the rope: Time Travel
Cut the Rope‘s main selling points are its cute characters, cartoony art style, and fun gameplay, all of which are very convincing. You play as a very cute little green monster named Om-Nom who likes to eat candy. To get the candy to him, you’ll have to solve a physics puzzle. This is done by cutting different ropes and working on your timing while trying to figure out the right order of moves. In this version, you can also meet some of Om-ancestors Nom’s from different times, and as the levels go on, you can switch from one time period to another. This doesn’t do much besides change the general theme, but it’s still fun. Basket Random game is easy to play, has good sound, isn’t too hard, and has cute little monsters that will make you smile.
Nimble Quest
Like the old school game “Snake,” you move a long line across a small field and try to avoid obstacles. This time, though, the line isn’t like any other line. In reality, you’re in charge of a group of small heroes that form a snake-like shape, which you move around the levels. You pick up diamonds and fight creative enemies. The goal of each level is to kill a certain number of enemies without losing your heroes. You start with one hero, but as the game goes on, more heroes join your side. This makes your line of heroes longer, so you have to be careful about how you move them. When they are close enough, they automatically attack and use their skills. You can’t stop them from moving forward, you can only guide them. It can be hard sometimes, but you have to stay focused on what’s in front of you because you don’t have time to think about anything else when you have to make quick tactical decisions. If you play this game on your phone, you will have a lot of fun.
Real Boxing
Last but not least, we have a very well-done boxing game where you have to think about things like timing, stamina, and strategy. Your guy can throw straight and hooked punches by tapping and swiping. You can cover up, and there is a practise mode where you can throw punches at a heavy bag to get used to the controls. Based on the Unreal engine, the graphics are very good, and you really feel like you’re in the middle of the fight. This is a great way to get out some of your anger without actually flailing your arms in the air.
Here are some popular smartphone games that are great for killing time and relieving stress. You can play them for a few hours to clear your mind when you have some free time.
