Penetration of pultruded parts in various new applications provides new growth opportunities to the Global Pultrusion Market

Pultrusion is a process of manufacturing fiber composites using polymer matrix. The reinforcement materials such as fibers are either woven or braided strands are impregnated with resin, followed by a separate preforming system, and pulled through a heated stationary die where the resin undergoes polymerization. The die completes the impregnation of the fiber, controls the resin content and also cures the material into its final shape as it passes through the die. The profiles manufactured with this process can compete with traditional metal profiles made of steel & aluminium for strength & weight. Resin types that are used in pultrusion are polyester, vinylester polyurethane, and epoxy. Raw materials used in the process are glass (E-glass and S-glass), carbon, aramid fibers in the form of roving strands, mat (continuous filament mat, chopped strand mat) and fabrics. The process is straight forward and simple which does not require any specific labor skills.
