If there is one thing manga readers know, it is that Eiichiro Oda is too smart for his own good. The creator of One Piece is a gifted storyteller, and he’s been stringing fans for decades at this point. After all, Luffy is still working to become the King of the Pirates, and his latest battle has brought him closer to realizing that goal than ever before. And after the manga dropped a massive secret about his Devil Fruit, well – it didn’t take fans long to discover Oda foreshadowed it years ago.
The whole thing came around in Fall 2001 if you can believe it. Back then, One Piece manga was celebrating the release of volume 20, and Oda answered a slew of questions from fans to celebrate. It was there some intrepid readers asked what would happen if a human ate the Hito Hito no Mi, and Oda couldn’t have answered more suspiciously if he tried.
“I suppose I should say they ‘become human’. Uh, I guess you could say that means becoming an adult or finding your true spirit or something. Basically, people will live more human-like. Well, I guess you could say that. Or not. Maybe not. Goodbye,” he wrote.

Clearly, the answer is on edge, and Oda no doubt dramatized it for comedic effect. However, that does not discount the fact it came to pass. Like Tony Tony Chopper and a few others, Luffy ate a Mythical Zoan treat as a child, and the Devil Fruit gifted him with godly powers as such. After all, the Hito Hito no Mi: Nika does free up Luffy’s childish personality as Oda hinted, and he’s definitely living life to the fullest.
Of course, One Piece fans didn’t think twice about this 2001 teaser because – well – we thought we knew the Gomu Gomu no Mi. It turns out the Devil Fruit is far more complicated than fans assumed, and Oda didn’t tease a single thing here about what Luffy’s Hito Hito fruit could do. But as more details come out about the treat, we’re sure fans will find more crumbs from Oda in years past.

One Piece Chapter 1046 Spoilers Teases Luffy Catching Lightning
One Piece fans were blessed with three great manga chapters that focused on Luffy’s new form. Now, the community wonders what events will unfold in Chapter 1046 of the manga series. Well, here’s everything you need to know about the next chapter’s spoilers.
Eiichiro Oda won everyone’s heart by revealing “Gear 5” of Luffy, which the Straw Hat Pirate captain awakens during the fight with Kaido. Kaido is also relieved to get another chance to bring down Luffy, but this time, he wants to defeat his opponent like he wants to. However, Luffy overwhelms Kaido in his new form, and he reveals his giant form, which makes him look like a God.
Nevertheless, the fight is still ongoing, and everyone is eager to see more of Luffy’s new powers. However, it looks like the next chapter will move its focus away from Luffy to somewhere else.

One Piece Chapter 1046 Spoilers Revealed
According to the latest leaks, Chapter 1046 of One Piece is titled “Raizo.” Apparently, Raizo will reveal that he has saved something else in his scrolls beside Kaido’s Bolo Breath. Interestingly, he kept the water that Zunisha used to bathe, and he did that when he was in Zou. He got this idea when Oden’s castle burned down 20 years ago.
Now, Raizo uses the water in his scrolls to flood the interior of the castle, and Jinbe is the one who is controlling the water.
Besides this, we’ll see five pages of Luffy vs. Kaido, in which Luffy will take things to the next level. As per the spoilers, Luffy will catch the lightning and move forward to attack Kaido. As expected, Kaido will allow Luffy to try his best to defeat him. There’s no name for Luffy’s final attack as of yet; however, it surely would be interesting to see him catch the lightning.
Finally, the next chapter will also feature Sanji and Zoro in a single panel, where Zoro is being carried away by Franky.
So, these are all the spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1046. Obviously, the chapter will offer so much more than what the spoilers are saying. So, it’s best to read the official chapter when it arrives on Viz Media this weekend.
