The Japanese Knotweed Agency is tackling the invasive Japanese Knotweed across England and Wales with its eco-friendly, non-chemical Thermo-Electrical treatment, a technology that is now set to revolutionize weed eradication.
Manchester (May 11, 2023) – As the spring season of 2023 is underway, the Japanese Knotweed growth has begun to cause problems for homes and businesses across England and Wales. This invasive weed, known for strangling neighboring plants and breaking through concrete, has already caused more damage in 2023 than in the previous year.
In 2022, the Japanese Knotweed Agency received nearly 40,000 reported sightings of the weed on its National Register. Despite the banning of glyphosate treatments in many public areas, parks and schools, there remains a lack of knowledge and understanding about how to identify and control the spread of Japanese Knotweed, as well as the proper methods for disposing of the weed to prevent its further spread.
Brighton & Hove, an eminent Green Council that has banned the use of glyphosate, is now facing a swarm of Japanese Knotweed infestations all over its Local Authorities Area. Brexit has further complicated the situation, as the council struggles to order equipment and employ suitable professionals in this industry.
As a result, The Japanese Knotweed Agency is offering an education and eradication program for Japanese knotweed in the UK, using a non-chemical Thermo-Electrical treatment using RootWave technology. The treatment applies up to 5000 volts directly to the weed, destroying its cell structure and making it unable to grow, without requiring removal. This technology is slowly gaining popularity and is expected to become the new standard for weed eradication.
The Agency has secured contracts with the NHS and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust as well as homeowners and commercial entities across England and Wales.
The Agency is leading the charge by offering the UK’s first non-chemical treatment and eradication program for the notoriously invasive weed. The is already reportedly being used by King Charles and Arsenal Football Club, and now even a Gloucester farmer is utilizing a bigger version of the technology to banish the weeds from his crop fields. This eco-friendly solution, which applies up to 5000 volts to the weed, is slowly but surely making its grand entrance and is poised to revolutionize weed eradication for good across the UK having been used successfully across Europe for decades.
The Japanese Knotweed Agency aims to work with local authorities and the public to raise awareness about the weed and provide a safe and effective eradication method to protect businesses, homes, and the environment. The Agency is committed to pushing for a chemical-free solution wherever possible, and the Thermo-Electrical treatment is proving to be an effective and safe alternative to harmful chemicals.
