Yaoundé, Cameroon – May 2023: Gwendoline Abunaw, Managing Director of Ecobank Cameroon and Cluster Head for the CEMAC region, gave an inspirational keynote speech at the 12th matriculation ceremony of the ICT University on April 20, 2023. The ceremony was held in Yaoundé, and over 200 incoming students were in attendance.
As the Country Head of the pan-African banking conglomerate with banking operations in 36 African countries, Gwendoline has been recognised beyond the continent for her expertise in giving inspirational speeches and leadership advise to both professionals and entrepruneneurs. She has also shared her thoughts on Ecobank’s efforts in providing a synergy between the bank and entrepreneurs to achieve more, how to access training and how to gain adequate knowledge to help them succeed.
During her speech, which was presented under the theme, “The entrepreneur’s mind is the entrepreneur’s might,” she stated that ‘Embracing failure is a part of success, which makes entrepreneurs to dare to dream big. You do not need to go to Havard to construct an entrepreneurial mindset, you can do that right here, at the ICT University and succeed”. She also made it clear that She made it clear that having an entrepreneurial mindset is critical to success and urge the graduates to continue to educate themselves and innovate.
As the first woman to become the Country Head of the Pan African Bank in Cameroon, Gwendoline has also become an established authority and sought-after inspirational speaker in the African continent due to her expertise gained from over 20 years worth of experience. The event ended with a networking session after the academic exchanges and oath ritual, giving graduates the opportunity to connect with the speakers even more..
