When Holly was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August 2018, she had no idea what she would be facing. The outpouring of love, prayers, support, and cancer patient gifts was overwhelming. Holly received so many gifts that it’s hard to select the best gifts for cancer patients but here are some of her favorites. Some of these cancer patient gifts women will enjoy but others are for anyone.
BLANKETS MAKE THE BEST GIFTS FOR CANCER PATIENTS
Blankets make great gifts for cancer patients. You find you are laying around in different rooms. What she LOVED about this blanket is that it has a pocket at the bottom for your feet. How GENIUS is that!? You know how your feet always come out the other end – well, no more! Holly loved this warm micro-plush throw to sleep at night. Her feet stayed warm and this blanket is a perfect weight. Tops the cancer gifts list!
SOCKS MAKE GREAT CANCER GIFTS
Whenever you have socks on, it keeps you warm. Holly liked the socks they give you in the hospital because they have those grippers on the bottom. She really enjoyed these colorful socks someone gave her which are good for men or women going through cancer treatment.
These Non-Skid Slipper Socks Holly wore all day and all night. She even put them on with tennis shoes and they fit! This way you don’t have to worry about slipping and you have warm feet. The socks would be great to include in a cancer gift basket as that’s how Holly’s gift came to her.
A FAVORITE GIFT IDEA FOR CANCER PATIENTS IS FOR YOUR LIPS
Holly had all kinds of products for her lips from chapstick to fancy lip gloss. When she received the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask from her daughter’s friend, she found her favorite lip treatment! This was one of Holly’s favorite cancer patient gifts. The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a great cancer gift for chemo patients because your lips are always dry. Use it like chapstick and put it on every night but also during the day. It even comes in several flavors. Vanilla and this apple flavor are Holly’s favorite. Guys, they even have a nonflavorful lip treatment which you might prefer.
SOCK-LIKE SLIPPERS ARE A CREATIVE GIFT IDEA FOR CANCER PATIENTS WOMEN WILL USE
A friend brought Holly these ankle slipper socks right before her last surgery. Holly had not seen them before and really enjoyed having them. A cross between slippers and socks served the purpose of walking around and keeping her feet warm.
EATING WELL THROUGH CANCER IS SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A COOKBOOK
This has been Holly’s best-selling cookbook for years but it was very different for Holly to use the book as a patient and not as an author. She better understands how the book is so helpful to so many people because she turned to her own book for recipes!
Eating Well Through Cancer cookbook was Holly’s go-to book during cancer treatment. She always used the recipes for healthy cooking but as a patient, she turned to this trusted cookbook. When she was going through chemo, she had confidence in recipes like Potato Soup, Bread Pudding Florentine, and Chicken and Dumplings. This cancer cookbook also gives good information about going through the side effects. The Lemon Caper Chicken became her new favorite chicken recipe!
COCONUT MELT BEST MOISTURIZER FOR CANCER GIFT IDEA
Holly’s daughter’s friend sent her a package from Sephora and this was one of her favorite products. Holly ended up loving this so much, she bought the coconut melt for gifts for people over and over! When going through chemo your skin tends to be dry and this Coconut Melt by Kopari is the best! Holly especially liked to use it on her feet and legs but rubbed it in everywhere. Truly, everyone she bought this cream for says how moisturizing it is. The other Kopari products sound amazing too. A ROBE FOR THE HOSPITAL MAKES GREAT CANCER PATIENT GIFT
Holly loved her cashmere robe and had one for years. In the hospital, you have to wear something over those hospital gowns so she would put her cashmere robe over my shoulders. Walking is good for you and Holly was known as the walker because she walked all day and usually in the middle of the night….all to stay strong! She preferred the longer length.
LAVENDER SCENTED BLANKET HEATS IN MICROWAVE FOR SOOTHING CANCER PATIENT GIFT
This Lavender Luxury Microwavable Neck Wrap was a favorite of Holly’s for several reasons. She loved how easily and quickly it heated up in the microwave.
