Even gods tell jokes.
God of War, which comes out in 2018, and God of War Ragnarok, which comes out in 2022, change what used to be an extremely violent, god-killing splatterfest into an introspective journey where a father who has lost touch with his son learns to connect with him. It’s not all thinking about yourself and fighting, though. Mimir’s thoughts and Kratos’s deadpan attitude make God of War: Ragnarok pretty funny.
The fact that he feels out of place as a Spartan in the nine realms also makes the game funny. All of this is clear from the game’s Codex, which shows Kratos and Mimir writing about the enemies and characters they meet. The funniest entries will make you laugh in between the times when the game is sad or makes you feel good.
heartwarming or tragic moments.
Mimir Is A Friend, But It’s More Important That He Isn’t Cumbersome
Mimir is the funny part of God of War. He becomes a good friend to Kratos and Atreus, as shown in the Codex entry where Kratos talks about him. Kratos being Kratos, he can’t help but mention that Mimir is easy to move around and doesn’t use up resources.
This is just another compliment for Kratos. When he calls him a true friend, it doesn’t seem like much of a compliment to anyone else.
An Appropriate Comparison
Mimir is the only one who could say that too much magic is like being drunk and crazy all night. To be fair, there are some effects that can happen when you drink too much and when you use too much mana. There’s a good reason why you shouldn’t let some people drink alcohol, just like there are some people you shouldn’t let near magic.
Magic gives you the ability to fight and control nature, while alcohol may help some people be more outgoing. Even though both are useful, not everyone can handle all the other things that come with using either one.
You Smell Them Before You See Them
People in God of War probably don’t take baths as often as people do today, so when they say something smells bad, you can believe them. Mimir, on the other hand, always looks on the bright side.
Even though they smell as bad as Mimir says, they are always easy to find because of how big they are and how much noise they make. In the 2018 game, trolls were a common enemy, but they don’t show up as often in the 2022 game.
No Secrets Here
Mimir doesn’t always have a joke for every situation, and not every Rune is a piece of advice to help you through life. This rune just says that it is a vault, and Mimir confirms this, but don’t expect it to be a vault from the Fallout series.
Even the oldest and most mysterious cultures had to organize and label their surroundings so that everyone knew what things were. Some things are exactly what they seem to be, but in the most recent God of War games, this is rarely the case.
Kratos Is No Fun
No one likes having things taken away from them or being interrupted while they are working. When something is small and cute, like a cat that keeps knocking things off our tables, we are more likely to let it slide. Based on what you said, Kratos would not put up with this kind of mischief, no matter how cute it was.
The blacksmith was probably too happy to be mad at the Ormr for stealing metals because he had just made a new creature. You have to wonder what Kratos did the first time Atreus tried to trick his father.
Short And Simple Gets The Job Done
Some things are so gross and unpleasant that it makes us feel bad to even talk about them. This is what Mimir thinks about the enemy from Nightmare. He can’t even stand to think about them, let alone write a colorful story about them.
If you keep running into these enemies, you will probably feel sorry for him. In God of War Ragnarok, the enemies that bother you the most are the smaller ones that come at you in large numbers.
Aesthetics Are Important
In God of War: Ragnarok, the war between the Light Elves and the Dark Elves in Alfheim is continued. The whole war shows that there are often gray areas in wars and that there isn’t always a clear right or wrong side. Each Retro Bowl play combines a run play and a pass play, and the player chooses between them.
Mimir, on the other hand, cares more about how the place looks now that the Light Elves are in charge. He agrees that the Dark Elves have done some nice things with the place, but he likes what the Light Elves have done better.
“Gassy Teenagers” Might Be A Redundant Term
Mimir calls these people he doesn’t like “Gassy Teenagers.” If you’ve ever been around teenagers, you know they have a lot of gas, so the term is kind of pointless. Grims attack Kratos, but most teenagers don’t act like that.
They don’t give you much trouble in battle. We wonder if, when they’re not fighting, they spend their days working through new feelings, the heartbreak of a first breakup, and the confusion of puberty.
Kratos Killed An Entire Realm’s Boogeyman
Your parents probably told you stories about monsters who hunted kids to get you to be good. Most of the time, this didn’t work and kept you up at night.
If Kratos lived in the real world, he could kill these monsters and show you that you have nothing to worry about. Now that the Blatonn is dead, what will the parents do to scare their kids? They might just say that Kratos hunts bad children. This sounds like a great idea for a separate show.
The Test Was So Intense It Killed Even Those Who Passed
We often hear about the terrible tests that ancient warriors had to go through. The Raiders had the same thing, and Mimir said that most people who tried these tests would die.
What good is the Raider Chief if they die from exhaustion even if they win? If they didn’t die in battle, the wounds they got would probably keep them from doing their jobs for a few weeks.
