What is a Digital Signature?

A digital signature is a cryptographic technique used to verify the authenticity and integrity of a digital document or message. It is the electronic equivalent of a handwritten signature or stamped seal but offers far more security and reliability. Digital signatures use public-key cryptography, where a pair of keys (public and private keys) are used to encrypt and decrypt the document. The private key is kept secret and is used by the signer to digitally sign the document, while the public key is shared with others to verify the signature.

ICEGATE Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)

To transact on ICEGATE, users are required to obtain a digital signature certificate (DSC) issued by a certifying authority recognized by the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
