The summer season for Brussels Airlines ended in October. Even though there are usually a lot of business trips in October, this is also the time when the school year ends and many people travel for pleasure. Since October 28, Brussels Airlines is Thomas Cook’s main airline partner in Belgium. At the end of October, flights to Cape Verde, Egypt, Tunisia, and the Canary Islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura were the first flights to these new destinations.

But the 15.1% increase in passengers isn’t just because of these new destinations, since the increase in passengers (+15.1%) is much higher than the increase in flights (+3.5%).

In October, there were also growth rates in the amount of cargo that was moved. Between October 2016 and now, the Cargo Load Factor has gone up by 11.4%. When measured in Revenue Ton Kilometers, the amount of goods moved went up by as much as 20.1%.

These numbers do not include the number of people who flew on charter flights that Brussels Airlines ran for travel agencies in October 2017.

Brussels Airlines and Delhaize have made a deal to work together for the very first time. They start the Valentine b.giftbox together. This new Valentine’s Day version joins the popular b.gift voucher that the airline offers every year for the holidays.

The b.giftbox has a voucher for a romantic trip for two (a round-trip flight to one of 39 selected European destinations) and a cookie box with little chocolate butter heart cookies from the Delhaize brand “Taste of Inspirations.” The b.giftbox is only €199 in the Delhaize e-shop, and you can pick it up in a store or have it sent to your house.

In addition to gift cards, Brussels Airlines has already put other unique products on the market. One of them is b.pass, which is a pass for a number of flights to the same destination that is aimed at commuters. Another option is b.student, which is a flight package designed for exchange students. It includes extra luggage for long stays abroad and a flexible return date for students who don’t know when their exams will be over.

We see that there is a huge demand for these custom-made products. The b.gift vouchers we sell around the holidays are always very popular. The next step is this Valentine gift box. Because we work together with Delhaize, we can put the voucher in a nice package with a real product. This makes it a great gift for someone you care about.
