Natural gas is that the least-expensive heating or energy fuel on the market today. meaning lower costs for gas users and extra money in consumers’ pockets.
The impact this low cost has on the economy and the way it ripples out can get complicated, but the rationale why gas is so inexpensive is really quite simple: there’s tons of gas within the U.S.
“Our nation has more gas today than ever before within the history of our country,” said AGA Chairman and President and CEO of NW Natural David Anderson at a recent meeting of the CFA Society of latest York (CFANY), a number one forum for the investment community that’s nearly a century old. “This abundance has kept prices affordable and stable for a decade now, and that we expect that to continue.”
Not only does this place gas utilities during a good position for potential investors (a high-quality product, with many supply, easily delivered, inexpensive to the buyer and every one the while still profitable) but it puts them during a unique spot to assist Americans through one among the foremost challenging periods in our nation’s history. “At a time when numerous are struggling in an unprecedented way, affordability is more important than ever,” Anderson said, noting that “today’s gas bill is a smaller amount than it had been 15 years ago.”
“I’m unsure you’ll say that a few lot of things we accept day in and outing ,” he said.
In his remarks to CFANY Anderson also outlined his vision for the longer term of gas utilities and for AGA, the organization that represents them. While the past year has brought variety of challenges, gas utilities have continued to deliver and can be there for all Americans, Anderson said, noting that the innovation that’s an indicator of the industry will still help our nation achieve its energy goals.
“This is that the time to think big and think differently,” he said. “I am certain that our industry will still thrive and demonstrate its commitment to affordability, the environment, innovation and safety. i do know we are up to the challenge, because I’ve seen this industry innovate time and time again.”
Supplemental natural gas supply is Synthetic gas , propane-air, coke oven gas, refinery gas, biomass gas, air injected for Btu stabilization, and made gas commingled and distributed with gas . Underground Storage Injections. Gas from extraneous sources put into underground storage reservoirs.
Anderson used an example from his own company NW Natural. “We started manufacturing gas within the 1860s and transitioned to standard gas as we all know it today within the mid-1950s and now within the 2020s we’re incorporating renewable gas into our supply portfolio and dealing on hydrogen,” he said. “What goes through our pipes may change, but our priorities remain unchanged and are as strong as ever.”
